【摘要】:Hard-drawnsteelwireasusedinprestressingconcretepipemaybeexposedtoelementalhydrogenfavorabletohydrogeninducedembrittlementandcracking.Resistancetohydrogenembrittlementisnecessaryforprestressingwiretoprovidelong-termperformancetoinstalledpipe.ThelengthoftimethatastressedwirespecimenresistsfailurewhileexposedtoaheatedsolutionofNH4SCN,isanindicationofthespecimen''sresistancetohydrogenembrittlement.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesprocedurestodeterminethehydrogenembrittlement(HE)resistanceofharddrawnsteelwireusedforprestressingconcretepipe.1.2HEresistanceisreportedastime-to-failureofspecimenstestedinalaboratory.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
