【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoversthedesignandmanufactureofinternationalshoreconnectionstobeusedwithmarinefirefightingsystemsduringanemergencywhenastrickenshiphasasystemfailure.Internationalshoreconnectionsareportableuniversalcouplingsthatpermitconnectionofshipboardfiremainsystemsbetweenoneshipandanotherorbetweenashorefacilityandashipwhentheirrespectivesystemthreadingismismatched.Boththeshipandthefacilityareexpectedtohaveafittingsuchthatinanemergencycanbeattachedtotheirrespectivefirehoseandboltedtogethertopermitchargingtheship'ssystem.Itmustbeportabletoaccommodatehosetohoseconnectionandallowassistancefromanyposition.Theinternationalshoreconnectionisrequiredbyinternationaltreatytobecarriedonboardallpassengerandcargovesselsof500grosstonsormore,regardlessoffiremainsize,engagedininternationalvoyages,andisrecommendedforallvesselsthatwouldbeexpectedtorenderassistance.Itisalsointendedtobeprovidedatshorefacilitiesthatwouldbeusedtosupplywatertoaship'sfiremainsystem.Fabricationeitheronboardavessel,inashipyard,orothershorefacilityisnotprecludedbythisspecification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.
