【摘要】:Thistechnicalreportisrelevanttothemeasurementandspecificationofultrasoundfieldsintendedformedicaltherapeuticpurposes.Lithotripsyandphysiotherapyareexcluded,sincethereareexistingInternationalStandardsfortheseapplications.Itestablishes:?topicswherethereisaconsensusthatthedevelopmentofInternationalStandardswouldbenefittheindustriesand/orpatients;?topicswherethewritingofstandardsshouldstartimmediately;?topicswherethewritingoftechnicalspecificationsshouldstartimmediatelyinordertogainpracticalexperienceandestablishconsensuspriortostandardisation;?topicswhichrequirefuturestandardisationbutwherefurtherresearchisrequiredbeforeinitiatingthewritingofstandardsortechnicalspecifications.Thisreportaddressesprimarilytherequirementsformeasurementstandardsrelatedtohighintensitytherapeuticultrasound(HITU)[alsoknownashighintensityfocusedultrasound(HIFU)]fieldswhicharebothhighintensityandfocusedandwherethemainmechanismforactionisthermal.However,aspectsofthediscussion,conclusionsandanyresultingstandardsortechnicalspecificationsmayalsoberelevanttotherapeuticapplicationswhichareeitherfocusedorhighintensityorwherethemainmechanismisnotthermal.Scientificliteraturehasbeenreviewedandresponsestoaquestionnairewhichwassenttoexpertsaroundtheworldarereported.
